DANNY AMON

Danny is the Personal Training and Fitness Center Manager at the York Jewish Community Center, where he oversees 19 trainers, has expanded the fitness program, and increased revenue. He has played a key role in the grant writing process at the York JCC, helping to secure funding that provided exercise equipment to the community and made top-tier personal training services accessible to individuals who might not otherwise afford them. With 15 years of experience in fitness and personal training, Danny has also gained expertise in budget management and human resources.

An active community volunteer, Danny currently serves on the York Suburban Wellness Committee, which focuses on improving the wellness environment for both students and teachers. He also leads an outdoor adventure club for children and adults, encouraging them to explore various exercise-based activities. Additionally, he has volunteered with Girls on the Run and events hosted by the York Revolution, all aimed at helping youth find joy in physical activity.

A National Merit Scholar, Danny earned a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from the University of Kentucky. He and his wife moved to York in 2017 when she accepted a position with WellSpan, and they have lived in the York Suburban district since 2020. Their daughter will soon enter the public school system.

Danny understands that good health is the foundation for effective learning and that schools play a crucial role in shaping lifelong health habits. He believes every student, regardless of background, deserves access to the best resources to empower their future—and that it is the community’s responsibility to provide them.
