Jim Polanzke is a Lutheran pastor with nearly 30 years of experience teaching youth and adults. While serving his congregation, he participated in an anti-racism committee and is currently on the Clergy Council, which works to strengthen bonds in the community. He has also served on a local global mission committee and an outdoor ministry board. Jim has helped lead numerous service trips to assist people recovering from natural disasters.
Jim and his wife, also a pastor, are parents of a York Suburban alumna. Jim grew up in the Midwest and graduated from the University of Iowa and Wartburg Theological Seminary. While he and his family moved to York in 2002, his roots go back in York County to pre-Revolutionary times. Jim comes from a family of educators, which has influenced his deeply held belief that every student deserves a quality education. In his free time, Jim enjoys yoga, running, reading and travel.
